  1.      DXHUNTER 5.2: DISTRIBUTION AND REGISTRATION.
  2.  
  3.      FOR  DISTRIBUTION  (TO FRIENDS OR TO BBS) SEE THE FINAL PART  OF  THIS
  4.      SECTION.
  5.  
  6.      The DXHUNTER  5.2   software   packet  is  available  in  2  different
  7.      configurations: FREEWARE (freely copiable and distributable), and FULL
  8.      (requires  registration and is not distributable). Both configurations
  9.      are performed by the SAME program.
  10.      The  difference between the two configurations stays into an encrypted
  11.      file  (USER.BIN) that you can modify at any time, turning the  program
  12.      from  FREEWARE into FULL, by entering your personal user code into the
  13.      REGISTER.EXE program (to obtain your user code, see below).

  15.      The FREEWARE version has the following functional limitations:

  18.      SPOT  ANALYSIS  (and consequent alert) is performed with a 50%  random
  19.      probability  (anyway  all  incoming spots are displayed  even  if  not
  20.      analysed).
  21.  
  22.      AUTOMATIC   RECONNECTION   is  performed  only  with  a   50%   random
  23.      probability.
  24.  
  25.      ON LINE PREFIX CHECK (F6) is limited to 3 tries per session.
  26.  
  27.      AUDIO  FUNCTIONS  and  RTX REMOTE CONTROL (via  RS232)  are  completey
  28.      disabled.
  29.  
  30.      The  MONITOR MODE (DX spot reception, while disconnected), is  enabled
  31.      only  during the first 30 minutes of a session; a registered user  can
  32.      require a special monitor-enabling floppy disk to be inserted into A:
  33.      drive, to have the monitor function enabled at any time (see below).

  35.      * THE DXPEDITION/SKED REMINDER accepts 3 items only.
  36.  
  37.      *  Different acoustic signalling on incoming talk, and automatic  talk
  38.      reply function, in case of NOHERE operator (Alt-Z), are disabled.

  40.      * LOOP RECORDER's maximum loop duration is fixed to 2 seconds.

  43.      Anyway  the  FREEWARE  version is a good evaluation kit  to  test  the
  44.      functions  which  will be ALL enabled during the first 30  minutes  of
  45.      every session (the functions marked with a star keep their limitations
  46.      also during the first 30 minutes)

  48.      This  allows you to understand the great power of DXHUNTER and, alone,
  49.      may give you good results.

  51.      Distribution  of this software packet to friends or via BBS circuit is
  52.      warmly encouraged (for details see the final part of this section).

  54.      To  turn  a  FREEWARE  version into your FULL  REGISTERED  one,  start
  55.      REGISTER.EXE program select option 2 and enter your user code.

  82.      ***BBS DISTRIBUTION AND FORWARDING NOTES

  84.      The complete packet size is more than 1 M, too much for a single block
  85.      and it suggests to create 2 distinct 500K blocks.
  86.      The  first block will be the main evaluation kit, while the second one
  87.      will contain the utilities.
  88.      Please, follow the next instructions to create the 2 blocks.

  90.      BLOCK1.
  91.      Put the following files into a directory:
  92.      INSTALL.EXE,   EXEFILES.EXE,  CFGFILES.EXE,   README.1ST,   READ1.TXT,
  93.      FILE_ID.DIZ.
  94.      With  a compressing utility (ARJ or PKZIP) compress above files into a
  95.      single one, naming it as DXH52E1.ARJ or DXH52E1.ZIP.
  96.      Upload created block to BBS.
  97.      (before  uploading the block to BBS, verify it is not already  present
  98.      by  issuing  the command FF DXH*.*; the BBS should perform  this  name
  99.      check automatically, anyway).

  101.      -> Suggested block description:
  102.      PCL:ALERT ON NEWONES & MUCH MORE!

  104.      BLOCK2.
  105.      Put the following files into a directory:
  106.      ARCFILES.EXE, VOICE.EXE, READ2.TXT, FILE_ID2.DIZ.
  107.      With  a compressing utility (ARJ or PKZIP) compress above files into a
  108.      single one, naming it as DXH52E2.ARJ or DXH52E2.ZIP.
  109.      Upload created block to BBS.
  110.      (before  uploading the block to BBS, verify it is not already  present
  111.      by  issuing  the command FF DXH*.*; the BBS should perform  this  name
  112.      check automatically, anyway)

  117.      If you see that a previous release of DXHUNTER is available on BBS you
  118.      can  upload the newer one, leaving a message to the SYSOP, so that  he
  119.      can delete the older.

  121.      Please  note  that it's very important to respect the suggested  block
  122.      names  (DXH52E1  and  DXH52E2):  they will be a good  search  key  for
  123.      everybody.

  127.      If you are a registered user, please pay attention not to include your
  128.      USER.BIN  file  into  any  block: in that case nobody  could  use  the
  129.      program  with  a  CALL  different  from  YOURS!!!.If  no  USER.BIN  is
  130.      included,  A  FREEWARE USER.BIN is automatically created and the  user
  131.      will  then be able to turn the FREEWARE into a FULL registered version
  132.      by passing his personal user code to the program REGISTER.EXE.

  137.      *** DISTRIBUTION TO FRIENDS VIA FLOPPY.
  138.      Distribution of this program to friends via floppy is welcome.
  139.      For  proper  distribution, following files must be copied to a  1.4  M
  140.      floppy disk:
  141.      INSTALL.EXE,  EXEFILES.EXE,  ARCFILES.EXE,  CFGFILES.EXE,   VOICE.EXE,
  142.      README.1ST,  READ1.TXT  READ2.TXT  (the file VOICE.EXE  is  needed  to
  143.      perform  spot voice announcement on SOUND BLASTER or equivalent or  PC
  144.      SPEAKER).
  145.      If you are a registered user, please pay attention not to include your
  146.      USER.BIN  file  into the distribution copy: in that case nobody  could
  147.      use  the program with a CALL different from YOURS!!!.If no USER.BIN is
  148.      included,  A  FREEWARE USER.BIN is automatically created and the  user
  149.      will  then be able to turn the FREEWARE into a FULL registered version
  150.      by passing his personal user code to the program REGISTER.EXE.

  154.      Note:  if your friend's PC manages 720 K floppies only, do not include
  155.      the  files VOICE.EXE and ARCFILES.EXE (if necessary, youll'be able  to
  156.      install  them  separately  in  a second time,  by  copying  them  into
  157.      C:\DXHUNTER and typing VOICE and ARCFILES -d).
